GATEWAY volunteers are considered to be the backbone of the organisation. Volunteers support
program participants, who are mainly frail older people and people with disabilities, in the various
recreational activities. (Refer to Community Well-being Programs)
GATEWAY volunteers have access to free accredited training through the Department of Human Services, eg. First Aid, CPR, Food Hygiene and Disability awareness workshops.
GATEWAY has a range of volunteering roles that suit people with different lifestyles. Volunteer roles can include:
- Team leadership
- Activity support
- Friendly visitor
- Bus drivers
- Bus jockeys
- Administration
