To enhance the feelings of safety, confidence and sense of wellbeing of socially isolated people over 50 years of age and people with a disability living in Hobsons Bay
The Friendly Visitor program is designed for individual community members who are socially isolated and can benefit from a GATEWAY volunteer providing social companionship, and practical assistance, through in-house visits or community outings such as coffee, lunch, or movies.
Gateway volunteers collect donated Fruit and Vegetables from VicRelief Foodbank and distribute these items to several community groups located in the Hobssons Bay area.
All programs have been designed to encourage inclusiveness and social participation in both a center based and community setting.
