A client reflection:

When Elizabeth, then aged 82 came to Gateway, she described her situation of being stuck at home. She said that she had been in that situation for almost 10 years due her reduced mobility and lack of transport. Now she attends a weekly arts and crafts activity group, has a strong circle of friends, and usually takes some craft home with her, which keeps her busy during the week. Going out once a week has given Elizabeth a new lease of life and sense of well being.

Community Partners

Gateway aims to strengthen communities & increase well-being by having a strong base of community partnerships that allow the organisation to add value, diversity and extend the boundaries of service provision, reflective of the increasing and changing needs of the community.

Gateway has a strong history of developing community partnerships, from engaging with individual volunteers, community based organisations, health and health promotion services, advocacy and policy development agencies, local and state government departments, recreational and sporting bodies and ethnic and cultural specific agencies. Gateway’s success and strength lies in its ability to be responsive to partnering with individuals and agencies. Our aim in creating Community Partners is to create sustainable and beneficial partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

We welcome the support of individuals or organisations through contributions of goods, services or financial donations, and in return Gateway will provide opportunities for collaboration, promotion and community involvement.
